Core courses

1) OpenFOAM® Foundation Course

This course introduces the open source CFD toolbox, OpenFOAM. It provides a foundation for all aspects of OpenFOAM, from running cases to programming, so is useful to both new users and existing users wishing to broaden their basic knowledge of OpenFOAM.

2) OpenFOAM® Advanced Course

This course covers advanced topics on the open source CFD toolbox, OpenFOAM. It is designed to enable the participants to use OpenFOAM effectively on real engineering problems and develop the toolbox to suit their needs. It covers general use and programming of OpenFOAM, building on topics presented earlier in the Foundation Course.

1) OpenFOAM® Adjoint Optimisation Course

This training is suitable for CFD engineers seeking a reliable tool for shape optimisation. It covers theoretical and applied concepts related to the use of the adjoint method in aerodynamic and hydrodynamic shape optimization using OpenFOAM.

2) OpenFOAM® Aeroacoustics Course

This course covers Theoretical and Applied concepts in Computational Aeroacoustics (CAA) using OpenFOAM, touching on progressive Multiphysics design challenges, e.g. Aero-Vibro-acoustics (AVA). The course organisers are leading experts in flow-noise source prediction, propagation and noise abatement in all engineering sectors including transportation (Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, Rail), energy, power generation, building environment and turbomachinery.

3) OpenFOAM® Aerospace Course

This 2 day course delivered by the official OpenFOAM Development and Release Authority introduces the open source CFD toolbox with a focus on aerospace external flow applications, AIAA accreditation, and 16-hours towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

4) OpenFOAM® External Aerodynamics Course

This course introduces, and provides hands-on experience of, the approaches necessary to apply OpenFOAM to vehicle external aerodynamics simulation.

5) OpenFOAM® Fire Modelling with OpenFOAM Course

This course covers the area of fire safety applications for the design of buildings, car parks, tunnels and others.

6) OpenFOAM® Overset Course

This course covers Theoretical and Applied concepts using overset (chimera) meshing in OpenFOAM. The course organisers are application experts in all engineering sectors, especially transportation: Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, Rail.
