OpenFOAM® Technical Committees
Overview
The Technical Committees cover all the key focus areas for OpenFOAM development; they assess the state-of-the-art, need and status for validation, documentation and further development. Technical Committee Chairs are nominated and ratified by the Steering Committee for a three-year term with a small bursary to support the effort and overheads associated with coordination. Membership in each Technical Committee is open to all, and bound by the Code of Conduct.
Role of the Technical Committees
The Technical Committee meets quarterly to:
- Recommend OpenFOAM developments
- Assess OpenFOAM validation in scope
- Nurture involvement of OpenFOAM Community

Meshing
Position open
We are currently looking to appoint a Chair to the Meshing Technical Committee.
Remit of the Committee:
- 3 year tenure together with your technical committee members to formulate, track and deliver meshing strategies for the benefit of the wider OpenFOAM Community
- Drive the meshing requirements from the several other Technical Committees and application Special Interest Groups
- Assess voluntary contributions and sanction funded developments based on technical merit
- Comply with the GPLv3 and the OpenFOAM Code of Conduct
- Report progress every six months to the OpenFOAM Governance Steering Committee
You should be:
- experienced in using and developing features in snappyHexMesh for geometry handling and meshing across a wide range of applications and industries
- willing to work closely with the OpenFOAM release authority to enhance the features and reputation of snappyHexMesh as a progressive technology at the forefront of industry use.
A small bursary is offered to cover out-of-pocket expenses.
