OpenFOAM®

How to get involved

Since OpenCFD first released OpenFOAM in 2004, it has changed the paradigm of academic research and CFD engineering in industry. We owe its existence primarily to the efforts of Henry Weller and Hrvoje Jasak, a prior generation of physicists and mathematicians who brought CFD to the level of trust it enjoys today, supported by a new generation of enthusiastic and able users who continue to develop and productionise its use.

Since ESI acquired OpenCFD in 2012 it has taken pains first to consolidate a professional basis for regular code releases, next to create a development framework for wider acceptance from all able contributors, and finally to give OpenFOAM end-users a principle say in its direction. This is OpenFOAM Governance; without exception you are invited, perhaps expected, to participate.
